Anna Paquin, a Canadian-New Zealander actress. Paquin is a native of Winnipeg and grew up in Wellington and made her stage debut in the role of Flora McGrath when she played the character in The Piano. She won an Academy Award at the age of 11 as Best support Actress. Anna Paquin is full Anna Helene Paquin born on the 24th of July in 1982 Winnipeg Manitoba Canada. In response to an open call for auditions to play the character, she was chosen in the role of Flora McGrath, the daughter of a muted Scottish piano player who relocates in New Zealand in mid-19th-century to marry. The actress was just nine, and she had no prior experience in acting. She emigrated from New Zealand to United States as a teen. Paquin had the role of lead in the film Fly Away Home in 1996 and also had a small part in the film as Jane Eyre as an infant. Paquin had a small role in the television movie of 1997 version of Carson McCullers novel The Member of the Wedding. In Steven Spielberg's Amistad which she was in, she played the Spanish queen in a minor role. She played teenage girls in of Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000), A Walk on the Moon (2000) and portrayed Polexia Aphrodisa the groupie of Almost Famous (2000).
